Angelina Jolie (originally Angelina Jolie Voight) is an American actor and director popular for her sex appeal, edginess, and humanitarian work. Jolie, the daughter and actor Jon Voight, was raised in New York. After her growing up, she relocated to Los Angeles, where she was the character of the mental patient in Girl, interrupted (1999). After two years at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in Los Angeles, she attended Beverly Hills High School. New York University later taught her drama. Also, she was an actor in theatre productions. Later, she was a model and featured in music videos. Jolie met Jonny Lee Miller (1996 divorced, divorced 1999).). The film was not well-loved, and neither were other movies. Jolie was the segregationist spouse of Alabama's governor, garnering plenty of attention in 1997. Jolie later won an Golden Globe Award. She played the role of the supermodel struggling with drug addiction in the HBO film Gia in 1999. This role earned her numerous honours including the Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Award. In 1999, she starred in the comedy Pushing Tin with John Cusack and Billy Bob Thornton, and the following year she married Thornton (divorced 2003).After the Oscar-winning performance in Girl, Interrupted, Jolie played a variety of action movies. Jolie played the girlfriend of the carjacker (Nicolas Cage), in Gone in Sixty Seconds 2000. Later, she adopted her British accent and began learning street fighting and kickboxing to be able to play the characters of Lara Croft Tomb Raider 2001 and Lara Croft Tomb Raider The Cradle of Life 2003. She played Alexander's mother in Oliver Stone’s Alexander in 2004. She was also in the film with Jude Law and Gwyneth paltrow in Sky Captain: The World of Tomorrow, a thriller featuring sci-fi in 1930s New York City. Both films disappointed at the box office, but Jolie's Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005) was the biggest success. Jolie played a character acting as a normal householdwife as she worked on the movie. Brad Pitt became her co-star.
